Confidential leadership advisory — Washington, DC Privacy policy

Privacy policy.

What this site collects when you visit or apply to work with me, how I use it, and the choices you have. I’ve written it to be specific rather than reassuring — the specifics are the reassurance.

Effective September 25, 2026.

01 / Scope

McClerren.co is run by me, Eric McClerren. I’m responsible for the information described here.

This policy covers the website. It does not govern the confidentiality of a coaching engagement. If we work together, how I handle what you share inside the work is set out in our engagement agreement, and the standard there is considerably higher than anything below.

02 / What I collect

When you apply, the form asks for your name, email, role and company, what’s prompting you to reach out, what you’d want to be different in six months, who would fund the engagement, and how you found me. A phone number and a final note are optional. The site also records your IP address and browser type with each application, to help screen out spam.

If you email me, I keep our correspondence. If you book an intro call, Blockit handles the scheduling and collects your name, email and the time you choose. If you subscribe to updates, I keep your email address and subscription status in Pipedrive, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

The site doesn’t take payments. Clients pay invoices through Intuit QuickBooks, so card and bank details go to QuickBooks, not to me. I see only the amount, the date and the last digits of the card.

When you visit, Plausible Analytics counts the visit. It sets no cookies and collects no personal information. It records which pages are read, which site sent you, and general details like country, browser and device, in aggregate. It doesn’t follow you to other sites, and I can’t identify you from it.

The Apply page uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam. It looks at technical details of your visit, such as your browser and how you use the page, and sends them to Google. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that.

The site is hosted by Elementor and delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process your IP address and basic technical details of each request to deliver pages and keep the site secure.

03 / How I use it

I use what you send me to read your application, reply to you, schedule a call if we both want one and, if we work together, to invoice you and keep accurate records. I use the visit counts to understand which pages people read.

I don’t use the contents of your application for anything but deciding fit and responding to you. I don’t run advertising or remarketing on this site, and I don’t make automated decisions about you.

04 / Who else sees it

I don’t sell your information, and I don’t share it for advertising.

A few services handle it on my behalf: Elementor (hosting and the site’s email), Cloudflare (security and delivery), Google Workspace (my email), Pipedrive (where I keep applications and correspondence), Blockit (scheduling), Intuit QuickBooks (invoicing), Plausible (visit counts) and Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection). Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

My assistant helps with scheduling and correspondence, and may see your application.

I may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.

05 / Cookies

The site sets only the cookies it needs to work: security cookies from Cloudflare, and a reCAPTCHA cookie on the Apply page. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The Cookie policy lists each one.

06 / Keeping it safe

I keep application and correspondence records as long as I need them to respond to you, to keep our history if we work together, and to meet financial and legal obligations. Then I delete them. You can ask me to delete yours sooner.

I use reasonable safeguards and choose providers who do the same. No system is perfectly secure, but I treat what you share with care.

07 / Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to show you the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email me and I’ll respond within the time the law allows. I’ll confirm the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address on file.

If I decline a request, you can appeal by replying to my decision, and I’ll explain my reasoning.

I don’t sell personal information, share it for advertising, or run targeted ads, so there’s nothing to opt out of on that front. If that ever changes, this policy will change first.

08 / Children

This site is for professional adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has sent me information through the site, tell me and I’ll delete it.

09 / Other sites and changes

The site links to other services, including the ones above. Their privacy practices are their own, and their policies are worth reading before you share anything with them.

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top and note material changes plainly.

10 / Contact

For a question about this policy, or a request about your information, email me at eric@mcclerren.co.

I read these messages myself.
